Pacific Grove rode a four-run fifth inning to post a come-from-behind 7-4 victory over visiting Galena (Reno) Thursday afternoon to improve to 16-0 on the season. The Breakers trailed 4-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth but rallied to take the lead and held on for the win. Galena concluded its trip to the Bay Area with a 5-2 loss to St. Francis CCC to drop to 9-6 overall.
The Breakers took advantage of poor defense by the Grizzlies, who committed six errors on the afternoon. Senior Kevin Teskey was the hitting star for Pacific Grove with two hits in three at-bats, driving in two runs. Senior Wes Carswell had the only other two hits for the Breakers, who were out-hit 7-4.
Pacific Grove looks to remain undefeated with a Mission Trail Athletic League home matchup against King City Monday afternoon (4 pm). Galena heads back to Reno to host Hug Tuesday afternoon.
