Torkelson delivers in clutch for Casa Grande

March 29, 2017

PETALUMA, CA - Spencer Torkelson's two-out double in the bottom of the sixth inning carried Casa Grande to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Montgomery in NBL action on Wednesday afternoon.

After getting hit by a pitch with one out in the sixth, Max Cerini stole second to get in scoring position, after Dylan Moore's fly ball resulted in the second out of the inning. That brought up Torkelson, and the Arizona State commit delivered by taking a 2-1 pitch past center field for the game-winning double.

Montgomery took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning, when the Vikings put four runs on the board. McDonald's one-out single scored a pair of runs, and Montgomery took the lead on an error and a wild pitch.

Casa Grande battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth, when AJ Miller doubled in both Torkelson and Quinton Gago. The Gauchos only had six hits in the game, but five of them were doubles.
