A first-half goal from Sacred Heart Cathedral senior Ian Eadie lifted the Fightin' Irish past Lick-Wilmerding, 1-0, on Monday, in non-league boys soccer action.
The host Tigers put a handful of shots on goal, but SHC goal-keeper Parker Whitcomb came up with five big saves to preserve the clean sheet, and enable Eadie's second goal of the season to stand up as the game-winner.
Sacred Heart Cathedral improved to 2-1 with the victory, shaking off a loss last Friday to University, while Lick-Wilmerding lost for the first time in five matches. The Tigers are now 3-1-1, having opened the season with consecutive victories over Terra Nova, Washington-SF, and Piedmont, prior to a draw last week against Lowell.
