SUNNYVALE, CA - Senior Brooke Oleson scored twice to lead Salinas past Menlo, 2-0, in a tournament game on Tuesday.
The Cal Poly commit received assists from senior Holly Ediger and freshman Camryn Garcia, as the Cowboys improved to 2-1 for the year.
Both of Oleson's goals came in the first half, as Salinas bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Saint Ignatius earlier in the tournament, this past Saturday. In that match, the teams were tied at the half before SI sophomore Kelly Wall hit the game-winner in the second half.
Oleson had the lone goal for Salinas in the loss to the Wildcats last weekend, and had a hat trick in the Cowboys' season opener at home against Fremont last week. She now has six goals in three matches this year.
Junior keeper Isabella Perez needed to make just three saves to preserve the clean sheet in the win over Menlo, after registering 14 saves in the first two tournament games.
