Offense powers Mitty win over Prospect

December 14, 2017

SARATOGA, CA - For the first time in three matches, the Archbishop Mitty boys soccer team allowed a goal to the opposing side, and in fact allowed two of them. But it mattered little, because the attack was on point, propelling the Monarchs to the 4-2 win on Wednesday at host Prospect.

Seniors Josh Robertson and Jota Yamaguchi each put one in the back of the net for Mitty (3-0), as did juniors Andre Thurmann and Oscar Toulet, who leads the team in assists with three this year. Junior Matt Espinosa had an assist in the match.

Eight different Monarchs have scored goals in their unbeaten start, which they look to continue on Saturday against Fresno-area power Bullard, in the De La Salle Showcase. Prospect, which fell to 2-2-1 with the loss, looks to bounce back on Friday at Lynbrook.
