Los Altos stays hot in win over Westmont

April 1, 2018

Los Altos won its fourth game in a row, in a Saturday tilt against Westmont, beating the Warriors 5-1.

The Eagles struck quickly in the bottom of the first, as Ryan Baum hit his first of three singles on the day to get things started. Alex Reelfs then singled to left, and after a flyout, Aaron Parker singled to load the bases. Keenan Hanley knocked in Baum to make the score 1-0. Brock Susko then stepped up to the plate and doubled to left field to knock in Reelfs and Parker and make the score 3-0.

The score would stay there until Westmont could rally for a run in the fourth. With the game still tight, the Eagles attempted to put the game away in the sixth.

Parker reached on a walk. After a flyout and a strikeout, Colin Homan hit a sharp single that hit the field umpire and stayed on the infield. Simon Heck walked to load the bases. Ben Parker then a hit a 1-1 curve ball to left center to complete the two-out rally, scoring both Aaron Parker and Homan to make the score 5-1.

Cobi Dougherty got the win and Zach Fuchs the save as they combined to hold the Warriors to one run. Fuchs only allowed two baserunners in three innings of work.
