Novato had three seniors in double figures on Wednesday, leading the Hornets past Hercules, 62-39, in non-league boys basketball action.
Jason Carpenter hit five three-pointers for the Hornets (1-0) to register a game-high 17 points, to go with four rebounds and four assists, as Novato led by 10 points at the end of one quarter and 39-21 at halftime. Neil Knight and Ali Moshref were strong in the paint to complement Carpenter's outside shooting. Knight had 15 points to go with six rebounds, while Moshref had 12 points, hitting six of his seven shots from inside the arc to go with 10 rebounds.
Two other Novato seniors, Albert Supradit and Jaden Heinemann, combined for 13 rebounds, while Supradit contributed seven points.
Novato plays at Mt. Diablo on Friday. Hercules (2-2) will look to snap its two-game skid at the Todd Lichti Tournament at Mt. Diablo on Thursday, Dec. 5. The Titans beat Mt. Diablo and Tennyson in their first two games of the season.
