Sophomores Sergio Valle II and Rychards Balarezo scored two goals each on Wednesday evening, more than enough to propel James Logan to an overwhelming 5-0 victory over Washington.
Senior Salvador Martinez-Sanchez added a goal and an assist for the Colts, who improved to 7-6-2 overall, 3-1-1 in MVAL action, where they sit a game behind Newark Memorial in the league standings. Washington fell to 1-2-2 in league play with the loss, and 1-4-2 overall.
Senior Mark Vargas, the standout kicker for Logan's football team, notched a pair of saves to post a clean sheet in goal for the Colts. Senior Ricardo Calderon and sophomore Daniel Valencia each added assists for the Colts.
Logan heads to Irvington this Friday night, while Washington heads to league leader Newark Memorial, who is 4-0-1 through its first five league games.
