Hillsdale raced out to an early lead and was never seriously challenged in a 79-40 PAL-South victory over visiting Capuchino Friday night. The Knights (11-5, 3-1) poured in 31 points in the first quarter and the Mustangs (3-9, 0-3) were never able to recover.
Senior Angelo Bautista led the Knights with 19 points, and senior Tushar Raghuram and sophomore Dante Fontenot added 13 points apiece. Bautista hit three of Hilldale's seven 3-pointers, as the Knights took a 31-12 lead after the first quarter.
Capuchino played Hillsdale on even terms in the middle periods, but a decisive fourth quarter which saw the Knights outscore the Mustangs 23-7 put the game away.
Both teams are back in action Wednesday, as Capuchino visits Sequoia and Hillsdale travels to Mills.
