Senior Nick Frankel led three players in double figures to pace Aragon to a 67-61 victory over visiting Hillsdale in a PAL-South boys basketball game Friday night. With the victory, the Dons improve to 13-5 overall, 4-2 in the PAL-South. Hillsdale drops to 11-7, 3-3.
Frankel scored 19 points to go along with 16 points by junior point guard Alex Manu and 10 for senior post man David Manoa to lead Aragon, which led for most of the game. After a defensive-minded start which saw Aragon take a 44-38 lead into the fourth quarter, the teams exploded for 23 points apiece in the final period.
Hillsdale placed four players in double figures, led by sophomore wing Dante Fontenot, who hit three 3-pointers on the way to a team-high 15 points. Senior guard Stevie Hasegawa (14), senior Angelo Baustia (12, all on treys) and junior Brian Houle (10) also reached double figures for the Knights, who look to bounce back Tuesday night (6 pm) at home against Burlingame.
Aragon is also back in action Tuesday night (6 pm) when it hosts Carlmont.
