EL SOBRANTE, CA - Miles Williams went 3-for-3 with a pair of triples and four RBI to lead Saint Mary's past De Anza, 14-3, in TCAL action on Monday afternoon.
The visiting Panthers built an 8-3 lead after four innings, before finishing the game early with a six-run fifth inning. Williams' second triple of the game came early in the fifth inning, scoring Jackson Schnetz. After a walk and a hit by pitch, Williams and Matt Cohen then scored on an error, and the heart of the lineup came to the plate.
Lucas Mendoza made it a 12-3 lead with his double to center, before both Ryan Jenkins and Gianni Bloom came through with run-scoring hits. Bloom finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Mendoza added two hits and Jenkins scored four times and had two stolen bases.
Five different pitchers threw in the game for the Panthers, without allowing an earned run. Jordan Holmes and Karon Casey each had two hits in the game for De Anza.
Saint Mary's plays at Pinole Valley on Wednesday afternoon, while De Anza hosts Carson (NV) on Saturday.
