WATSONVILLE, CA - Junior Katelyn Shelton scored 23 points and had nine rebounds on Monday night, as San Lorenzo Valley took down host St. Francis-Watsonville, 56-54.
Senior Veronica Johnson also shined in the Cougars' victory, with her double-double performance, scoring 20 points to go with 10 rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Kayla Brumbaugh chipped in seven assists, while fellow sophomore Abigail Monroy rounded out the scorers in double figures for SLV (6-14, 2-6 SCCAL) with 10 points.
San Lorenzo Valley lost to league leading Aptos on Wednesday night, but looks to get back in the win column on Friday night at Santa Cruz.
St. Francis (10-9, 4-4) rebounded with a 57-50 win over Scotts Valley on Wednesday, and hosts Harbor on Saturday evening.
