Armstrong leads Terra Nova past El Camino

January 26, 2018

PACIFICA, CA - Junior Kenady Armstrong turned in a huge performance to lead Terra Nova past El Camino on Wednesday night, 61-47, posting an impressive double-double as the Tigers created separation in the second half.

Terra Nova (12-5, 4-1 PAL-North) led by five at the end of the first quarter, but the Colts (12-6, 3-3) closed the gap by halftime, and trailed just 27-25 as the teams headed to the locker room. The 6-foot-5 Armstrong proved to be too much, however, powering her way to a 28-point, 13-rebound performance as the Tigers extended the lead to seven points by the end of three quarters, and then doubled that lead by the time the final buzzer sounded.

Senior Numi Saini was the lone other Tiger in double figures, as she scored 10 points, but others also helped Terra Nova dominate on the glass. Saini added seven rebounds, as did senior Venus Pascua, who also scored nine points. Freshman Kapua Wong Hin had six rebounds and four assists.

Terra Nova, who stayed one game back of South San Francisco in the PAL-North standings, plays at Half Moon Bay this Friday as part of a quad feature, while El Camino hosts South San Francisco.
