Gomez no-no leads Fremont Christian to victory

March 1, 2018

FREMONT, CA - Fremont Christian junior Bubba Gomez struck out 14 of the 16 batters he faced on Tuesday afternoon, as the Warriors blanked Summit Prep-Redwood City, 12-0, behind his no-hit effort on the mound.

The only player to reach base against Gomez was the second batter of the game, who was hit by a pitch. After a sacrifice bunt, Gomez struck out the next 13 hitters.

Ramon Barragan wasted no time giving Fremont Christian an early lead, homering to lead off the Warriors' turn at the plate, and finished the game 3-for-3 with four runs scored. Tyler Woodman went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI, while Gomez went 1-for-2 with two RBI and five stolen bases.

Fremont Christian hosts Tennyson on Monday, March 5, while Summit Prep faces KIPP Collegiate on March 8.
