Junior Max Orkin threw a three-hit shutout to lead host Branham to a 10-0 win over first-place Willow Glen Friday afternoon in a BVAL-Mount Hamilton baseball game.
The Bruins (8-10-1, 3-5 BVAL-MH) rapped out 16 hits in support of Orkin, who improved to 3-4 on the season. Willow Glen (15-4, 6-2) dropped into a first-place tie with Leland.
Sophomores Cameron Rynhard and Carter Jones had three hits apiece for Branham, which jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Jones had two doubles and three RBIs and senior Connor Seoane went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Branham is back in action next Tuesday when it travels to Scotts Valley for a non-league game. Willow Glen hosts Los Altos Saturday in a non-league game.
