Thompson delivers for O'Dowd

March 30, 2019

CASTRO VALLEY - Bishop O'Dowd pitcher Wyatt Thompson gave the Dragons exactly what they needed on the mound Friday against Castro Valley, striking out nine and scattering three hits in a complete game performance for the 2-0 victory.

With two outs and runners on second and third in the top of the fourth, Anand Mehta delivered the only runs that O'Dowd would need for the win, singling to center field, scoring both courtesy runner Sebastian Camacho and Thompson. Camacho was running for Liam Rizzo, who had opened the inning with a single, in front of Thompson drawing a walk.

Thompson's outing off-set a strong combined pitching performance from Castro Valley's Justin Hernandez and Matthew Aahl, who combined to allow just six hits and the two runs.
