Early explosion lifts Hillsdale past Irvington

SAN MATEO - Hillsdale only needed two quarters of action on Friday night to do the needed damage against visiting Irvington, scoring all of its points before halftime in a 41-6 victory.

Nathan Iskander ran for 171 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries, which included scoring bursts of 65 and 47 yards. Meanwhile, quarterback Dylan Loftus completed 3-of-4 passes for 66 yards and two scores, with both touchdowns coming in the first quarter, on passes of 39 yards to Johnny Goode and 13 yards to Ben Weiskopf.

Middle linebacker Kasimili Tongamoa led a dominant effort for the Fighting Knights' defense, with 10 total tackles, including two tackles for a loss, while fellow linebacker Josh Anderson had a pair of interceptions.

Hillsdale (1-0) heads to Independence on Friday, while Irvington (0-2) hosts Castro Valley this week.
