MOUNTAIN VIEW - Mountain View used a dominant first-half performance to roll past neighboring rival Los Altos on Friday, defeating the Eagles 34-6 to stay unbeaten through three games this season.
Junior Austin Flax had three catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns, including a 71-yarder from Trent Steffen, who threw for 152 yards. Junior Mason Davies led a balanced rushing attack for the Spartans with nine carries for 91 yards and a touchdown, while junior Julian Daniels ran for 53 yards and a score.
Mountain View (3-0) led 28-7 at the half before pulling back over the final two quarters. Senior Andrew Bice had a fantastic night defensively, with 12 tackles and five pass break-ups.
Mountain View heads to Capuchino next Friday, while Los Altos (1-2) is off next week before hosting Santa Clara on Sep. 21.
