Junior Emily Trampenau and sophomore Aoife Murphy each notched a brace on Friday evening, leading Branham to an easy 7-1 win over Gunderson, as the Bruins remained unbeaten for the season and in sole possession of first place in the BVAL-Mt. Umunhum standings.
Andie Franco, Mia Fujitani and Solana Salinas each added individual goals for Branham, which improved to 12-0-2 overall and 5-0-1 in league play, maintaining a two-point lead over Prospect in the division standings. The top two competitors for the division title ended in a scoreless tie when they met three days earlier.
Branham heads to Lincoln on Tuesday night for a key match against the Lions, who reside in third place in the division standings. Gunderson, which fell to 2-7-2, 1-5, will host Prospect on Tuesday.
