Junior quarterback Jonathan Walters threw seven touchdown passes to lead Saratoga to a 54-7 win over visiting Homestead Friday night in SCVAL De Anza Division action. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for the Falcons (4-2, 1-2 SCVAL-DA). It was the third loss in a row for the Mustangs (2-4, 0-3).
With Friday's outburst, Walters has now thrown a whopping 25 touchdown passes on the season for a Saratoga passing attack that averages well over 300 yards per game.
The game was never in doubt as the Falcons rolled out to a 42-7 lead by halftime. Walters spread the wealth, tossing two TD passes apiece to Grant Faylor, Travis Stokes and Ryan Kane as well as one touchdown to Kyle Dozier. Kane also scored on a 15-yard run. Derek Rositas accounted for the lone Homestead score with a four-yard run in the third quarter.
Saratoga looks to stay on track next Friday night when it hosts Mountain View (2-4, 0-3), while the Mustangs look for their first league win when they host Santa Clara.
