Lucas Erceg, a second-round pick out of Menlo College, signed with the Milwaukee Brewers for $1.15 million, according to Jim Callis of mlb.com.
Said Callis of the former Westmont High star: “fits 3B profile with big power and arm.”
Erceg starred at Cal his sophomore year before transferring to Menlo College, hitting .303 with 11 doubles, a triple, 11 home runs and 42 RBIs for the Golden Bears in 57 games.
At Menlo the left-handed hitting Erceg hit a single-season record 20 home runs.
