It was another great night of action across the Texas football landscape on Friday night. We provide you with a whirlwind look at the top action from around the 6A-DI games.

Allen remains perfect and eliminates Belton

Allen’s defense held strong as Belton came within a yard of the end zone as half expired. Eagles’ ability to keep Belton out of the end zone resulted in second half momentum as Allen defeats Belton 24-7.

The Woodlands fends off a late comeback bid by previously unbeaten Sachse

Highlanders’ quarterback Eric Schmid scrambles for 25-yard score to lock up The Woodlands’ place in the regional semi-finals. Highlanders defense bends, but doesn’t break when the game is on the line as The Woodlands holds on to win a 51-40 nail-biter.

Katy flexes muscles in win over Cy Ranch

No Deondrick Glass? No problem. After the Katy star runningback’s premature departure due to leg injury, the Katy Tigers kept the ball rolling, defeating Cy Ranch 31-14. Katy’s defensive secondary forced two late interceptions and only allowed an astonishing 16 yards through the air as the Tigers move one step closer to state championship number nine.

North Shore advances thanks to impressive defensive performance

The defending 6A-DI state champions advanced to the regional semi-finals after lights out defensive showing. The North Shore Mustangs defeated Dickinson 17-7 in a shootout of powerhouses as North Shore punches ticket to dance with Katy.

Lamar triumphs in battle of Houston heavyweights

Lamar held on late, stopping Ridge Point to end Panthers’ perfect inaugural 6A season. With the 24-21 defeat of Ridge Point, Lamar stands in company of few Houston representatives in 6A-DI.

Lake Travis steamrolls Smithson Valley in San Marcos

The Cavs improved to 11-1 with a 40-21 win over Smithson Valley as the Lake Travis offense continued to light up scoreboards. The Texas State University Football scoreboard was put to use, for once, this season tonight as Lake Travis continues to dominate in Region IV.

Westlake escapes elimination in Ehlinger’s return

What a return it was for Chaps’ star quarterback Sam Ehlinger. The Westlake Chaparrals defeated Judson, one of Texas’ most prestigious programs 24-21 in an area round game for the ages.
