Antioch's Josh Cordova was named to the Rawlings Top Prospect List after a strong performance at the Perfect Game West Academic Showcase last weekend.
The event, which took place on July 22 and 23 at East LA College in Monterey Park, featured players from throughout the country. Cordova was recognized as one of the top 11 players there from the Class of 2018, as the 6-foot-2 right-hander impressed on the mound, clocking in the mid to high 80's and showing command of four different pitches. He also plays first base.
Cordova has been a 4.0 GPA student for the Panthers, and was an Honorable Mention All-BVAL selection this past spring. He hit .340 with a team-high 15 RBI, while posting a 3.13 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 38 innings pitched during the high school season.
