In a season opener, Menlo School boys soccer tied the game in the 75th minute and finished with a 2-2 tie at Terra Nova on Wednesday.
The Knights and Tigers were tied 0-0 at halftime, but the Knights delivered some close shots, including Ben Lasky's shot that hit the post, and another one a goal called back for offsides.
Menlo countered Terra Nova's penalty kick in the 53rd minute. Seven minutes later, Billy Hamilton scored on an assist by Max Colowick. Following a Tigers' free kick in the 65th minute, Menlo answered with the equalizer the 75th on a penalty kick by co-captain Marc Velten-Lomelin after Lasky was taken down in the box.
The Knights take on host Aragon next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.Terra Nova takes on Nueva School on Friday at 3:30 pm.
