Valley Christian pair announces commitments

May 4, 2018

A pair of Valley Christian basketball players announced their commitments on May 2 as part of the late signing period. Cameron Fini committed to Division II Holy Names University in Oakland, while Arya Balaji signed with Case Western Reserve University, a highly prestigious academic school in Cleveland that plays in Division III.

Fini, who stands at 6-foot-7, averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds as a senior and posted 28 in a win over Sacred Heart Cathedral. The 6-6 Balaji, whose season came to an end after a knee injury on December 23, averaged 10 points and eight rebounds. He did suit up in the CCS Division II Championship, which the Warriors won over Aragon, 57-36. The Warriors went on to reach the Northern California Division III Semifinals.

While the two towering seniors are part of an excellent departing class, Valley Christian will still have some attention next year with 6-9 Jay Allen-Tovar.
