Lavdiotis named head coach at Lowell

May 4, 2018

Chris Lavdiotis, who served as head coach at Piedmont for 24 years, has been announced as the new head coach at Lowell, as confirmed by athletic director and outgoing head coach Robert Ray.

Lavdiotis’ contract at Piedmont was not renewed following the 2016-17 season, a decision that drew heavy criticism from much of the Piedmont community as well as other coaches in the area.

He’ll be replacing a longtime coach in Ray, who confirmed the hiring. Ray will continue to serve as athletic director, coach girls golf and serve as an assistant for softball. He also plans to help Lavdiotis transition into the role as head coach for the Cardinals and continue as an on-campus P.E. teacher.
