The East Bay Athletic League has released its all-league teams for the spring sports season, with five De La Salle athletes leading the way on the baseball team, as first-team selections off the North Coast Section Division I champions roster.
Foothill senior Brett Hansen, a Vanderbilt commit who was selected in the 38th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the San Francisco Giants, was named the league's Most Valuable Field Player after hitting .500 with two home runs, seven doubles, and 29 RBI, and committing just one error all season in the field. Hansen went 8-1 with a 1.59 ERA on the mound, striking out 71 batters in 57 innings pitched.
De La Salle sophomore left-hander Kyle Harrison, a verbal commit to UCLA, was selected as the league's Most Valuable Pitcher after going 9-1 with a 1.17 ERA, striking out 71 batters in 54 innings pitched. He allowed just one run in three post-season outings.
