July 11, 2018

Heritage graduate Gio Diaz and Livermore alum Daniel Slominski have been selected for the 2018 West Coast League All-Star Game.

Diaz hit .319 as a freshman this past spring at Saint Mary's College, and had an on-base percentage of .440, with seven doubles, 20 runs scored, and 16 RBIs. He also turned 18 double plays from his middle infield position. This summer, Diaz is playing with the Portland Pickles.

Slominski just completed his junior season at the University of San Francisco, going 3-2 with a 4.45 ERA in 18 appearances on the mound. He struck out 28 batters in 32 innings pitched. Slominski is playing with the Corvallis Knights this summer.

The All-Star Game is on Tuesday, July 17, in Port Angeles, WA.

The West Coast League is considered to be the premier summer collegiate wood-bat league west of the Mississippi River, with teams throughout the Pacific Northwest.
