Foothill girls trounce Kennedy

December 7, 2018

The Foothill girls' soccer team peppered the net on Thursday against Kennedy-Fremont, emerging with a 5-0 home victory for the Falcons' first win of the season.

The Falcons dropped their opener to Castro Valley on Tuesday, but left little doubt in their match against the Titans on Thursday. Foothill found the back of the net four times in the first half, and seniors Makena Densmore and Lucia Castaneda recorded two goals each in the win. Freshman Samantha Lim also scored, and as a team, the Falcons recorded 17 shots on goal. Junior Audriana Templeman notched a pair of assists in the victory.

Conversely, the Foothill defense allowed just one shot on goal to Kennedy's attack, which was stopped by senior keeper Cierra Lofthouse-Wolf, who played the first half in goal before junior Alaina Scholhamer preserved the clean sheet.

Foothill takes on league rival Livermore next Tuesday to start EBAL play, while Kennedy opens MVAL play next Tuesday against Newark Memorial, with the Titans still seeking their first win of the season.
