LOS GATOS - Just like it has done every game this post-season, Hillsdale came out swinging in the Central Coast Section Division II semifinals, pounding its way past Aptos in a 16-1 rout.
The Fighting Knights have now won their three playoff games by a combined score of 38-2, giving starting pitcher Kealani Kaufusi plenty of breathing room in the circle. Kaufusi struck out seven and allowed two hits over four innings, while Hillsdale's lineup had 18 hits, including nine doubles.
Mika Chong went 4-for-4 with three doubles, four runs scored and five RBIs to lead the Fighting Knights, while Kaufusi helped her own cause by going 3-for-3 with two doubles and five RBIs. Addison Eftekhari was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and four runs scored, while both Brianna Santos and Caitlin Regan had two hits each.
Hillsdale will now face either Valley Christian or Pioneer for the Division II title on Saturday.
