Camarillo advances to DII bowl game

December 12, 2015

Defense was missing in action for much of the game.

Camarillo and La Habra scored over 100 combined points, but it was the Scorpions who outlasted the Highlanders 63-49 in a Friday night shootout.

Despite being reportedly sick, Camarillo quarterback Jake Constantine had an outstanding game. The senior QB passed for 354 yards and seven touchdowns in the win. Three of Constantine’s touchdowns went to wide receiver Frankie Tostado. Tostado also had 120 yards receiving.

The undefeated Scorpions (15-0) had to put up points to stay ahead of a La Habra high-flying offense. The Highlanders had a great performance from junior wide receiver Prince Ross. Ross compiled 271 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. His quarterback Eric Barriere threw for 429 yards and three touchdowns.

Camarillo will face Loomis Del Oro in the CIF state championship Division II-AA bowl game on Dec. 18.
