Heritage senior Jonathan Ned was named Most Valuable Player of the Bay Valley Athletic League for the second straight year, while San Francisco State commit Mikaila Wegenke brought home the MVP award on the girls' side, making it a clean sweep for the Patriots.
Heritage went unbeaten in the BVAL on both the boys' and girls' sides of the standings, and both reached the NCS Division I title games last weekend. The Patriot girls finished as runner-up to Carondelet for the second straight season, but the Heritage boys secured the school's first section title in basketball with a 71-66 win over Clayton Valley Charter.
