Week 1

BEN FRAME, HILLSDALE
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Frame earned the honors for his week one performance, in which he completed 12 of 18 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns in a big 21-12 win over CCS preseason 15th-ranked Archbishop Riordan.


COVOSSAY WINDHAM, CARMEL
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Windham started the season on the right foot, rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns in the Padres’ 41-7 win over Willow Glen.


Week 2

TYREE BRACY, MILPITAS
Position: Quarterback
Year: Junior

Bracy stepped to the head of the class for his week two performance, in which he threw for 284 yards and five touchdowns, and ran for a sixth score, as the Trojans knocked off then NCS third-ranked Antioch, 49-28.


JACOB RYDER, LIVE OAK
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Ryder provided all the offense that the Acorns would need in Live Oak’s 35-14 win over Christopher, rushing for 212 yards and all five touchdowns.


Week 3

JORDAN MIMS, MENLO-ATHERTON
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

The Bears ran roughshod over Sacred Heart Cathedral, 49-0, with Mims leading the way. The senior back ran for 284 yards and four touchdowns in a big non-league victory.


HUNTER NYE, SAN BENITO
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Nye paved the way for the Balers’ big 35-14 win over Los Gatos, rushing for 230 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.


Week 4

TIMOTHY BURKHARDT, NORTH SALINAS
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The senior signal-caller led the Vikings to a 41-13 win over Santa Cruz, completing 18 of 25 passes for 344 yards and four touchdowns for the non-league victory.


WILLIAM LIDDLE, SARATOGA
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Liddle led the Falcons to a big win over Leigh, completing 30 of 45 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns in Saratoga’s 42-27 victory.

Week 5

MICHAEL JOHNSON JR, THE KING'S ACADEMY
Position: Quarterback
Year: Sophomore

The highly-touted Division I prospect did not disappoint in a big win over Oakland Athletic League opponent Castlemont. Johnson completed 24 of 34 passes for 357 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 167 yards and two more scores on the ground in a 49-44 victory, giving him 524 total yards from scrimmage in the game.


NOLAN BERRY, WESTMONT
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Berry carried the ball 19 times for 153 yards and scored three touchdowns, while also registering two sacks on defense, in the Warriors’ 30-13 win over Silver Creek.


Week 6

ALEX GARCIA, PIEDMONT HILLS
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The Pirates quarterback performed at the top of his game in a Mount Hamilton match-up against Willow Glen, completing 22 of 31 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns, as Piedmont Hills picked up a big 34-13 win over the Rams.


CASEY MORNHINWEG, STEVENSON
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Mornhinweg led Stevenson to a big 28-14 win over Pacific Grove, throwing for 344 yards and all four touchdowns in the victory.


Week 7

LEKI NUNN, SERRA
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

In arguably the regular season game of the year in the CCS, Nunn came up with a huge performance, throwing for 230 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 114 yards and a pair of scores in a massive 41-40 overtime win against Saint Francis. Nunn also threw for a pair of two-point conversions, including the game-winner in overtime.

DEMARII BLANKS, CARLMONT
Position: Running Back
Year: Junior

Mornhinweg led Stevenson to a big 28-14 win over Pacific Grove, throwing for 344 yards and all four touchdowns in the victory.


Week 8

MICHAEL JOHNSON JR, THE KING'S ACADEMY
Position: Quarterback
Year: Sophomore

It’s not often a player gets selected Head of the Class twice in a season, but Johnson’s performance in a 48-41 win over Woodside was simply too good not to be at the top. The sophomore signal-caller completed 16 of 26 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns, but his rushing performance was even more impressive, running for 268 yards and five touchdowns, accounting for 515 yards and all seven touchdowns.


MARCELOUS CHESTER-RILEY, WOODSIDE
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Woodside may have fallen short to The King’s Academy and Michael Johnson’s amazing performance, but Chester-Riley put on a show of his own in the 48-41 loss. The senior back ran for 328 yards and six touchdowns to keep the Wildcats within striking distance.


Week 9

MOSES BARAJAS, OVERFELT
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The Royals quarterback came up big in a 40-6 win over Evergreen Valley, keeping Overfelt tied with Gunderson (at the time) for the West Valley lead. Barajas completed 17 of 24 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, while rushing for 44 yards and another score.


DANIEL BENJAMIN, JEFFERSON
Position: Quarterback
Year: Junior

Benjamin threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns, on just 13 pass attempts, and also ran for another 155 yards, leading his team to a 36-30 win over Mills.


Week 10

KYLE REID, LOS GATOS
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The Wildcats dual-threat signal-caller lived up to his billing in a huge 50-36 win over Wilcox, wrapping up a league title. The senior completed seven of eight passes for 128 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 88 yards and three more scores.

EVAN KING, MENLO SCHOOL
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

King posted a huge day through the air in the Knights’ 45-35 win over Woodside, hauling in 13 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns.


Week 11

JARED KING, LEIGH
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

King got it done in both facets of the game, in a 42-14 win over Santa Teresa. The senior quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 107 yards and three scores, accounting for all six touchdowns in the Longhorns’ big victory.

SHALOM FILOALII, YERBA BUENA
Position: Running Back
Year: Junior

Filoialii carried his team to the 24-22 win over Evergreen Valley, rushing for 287 yards and two scores in the victory.


Week 12

AAJON JOHNSON, MENLO-ATHERTON
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The Bears opened the playoffs with a 42-14 statement win over Wilcox, and Johnson was the catalyst. The senior quarterback threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 52 yards and three scores. The win triggered a dominant run to the CCS Open 1 championship.


EMILIO MARTINEZ, PALMA
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

The senior back etched his name in the record books, with one of the top post-season performances, rushing for 310 yards and six touchdowns in a 55-27 first-round victory over Saratoga.


Week 13

JAVON STURNS, VALLEY CHRISTIAN
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Sturns led a dominant Vikings’ effort, in a 35-7 semifinal win over Aptos in the CCS Open 3 playoffs. Sturns ran for 145 yards and four touchdowns, leading Valley Christian to the section title game and an eventual championship.


EMILIO MARTINEZ, PALMA
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Martinez was unstoppable in the Chieftains’ 40-14 semifinal win over Live Oak, rushing for 295 yards and five touchdowns to lead Palma into the section championship game.


Week 14

LEKI NUNN, SERRA
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Nunn earned his second appearance on this list by playing one of his biggest games on the section’s biggest stage. The Padres defeated Mitty, 37-24, for the CCS Open 2 championship, behind Nunn’s all-around performance. The senior quarterback completed 12 of 18 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 161 yards and two scores to secure a section title.

CHASE HOFMANN, HALF MOON BAY
Position: Running Back
Year: Junior

The Cougars repeated their Division 5 title from the previous season, downing Menlo, 41-24, and Hofmann was a big reason. The junior back ran for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while also recording an interception on defense.
