Week 1

DUSTY FRAMPTON, ST. MARY’S
Position: Running Back
Year: Junior

Frampton earned the honors for his week one performance, in which he ran for 265 yards and six touchdowns in a big 63-35 win over the preseason top-ranked team in the CCS, Serra, a team which would eventually win a section title and come within two points of a state title.

CARSON STRONG, WILL C WOOD
Position: Quarterback
Year: Junior

Strong completed 31 of 48 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats posted a huge season-opening victory over Concord, 27-26.


Week 2

BRENT SCHAEFFER, VISTA DEL LAGO
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Schaeffer stepped to the head of the class for his week two performance, in which he threw for 451 yards and five touchdowns as the Eagles picked up a 34-27 win over Ponderosa.


DEWEY COTTON, ST. MARY’S
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Senior

The Sacramento State-bound receiver came up huge in an early non-league win over Cardinal Newman, snagging 12 catches for 195 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-32 win for the Rams.


Week 3

ROBERT HOLT, MONTEREY TRAIL
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Holt led the Mustangs past Vista del Lago in a shootout, needing just 13 pass attempts to throw for 222 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-42 victory.


MALCOME GREEN, DOWNEY
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Green accounted for all five touchdowns in Downey’s 38-0 win over Tokay, rushing for 175 yards and four scores, while adding another receiving touchdown.


Week 4

TAREZ HOLLANDSWORTH, SACRAMENTO
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Hollandsworth led the Dragons to the upset of the year, ending Folsom’s 48-game regular-season winning streak and 52-game streak against Sac-Joaquin programs. The senior back ran for 268 yards and a touchdown in Sacramento’s 32-27 victory over the Bulldogs.


ZACH ORMAN, GALT
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Orman took over on the ground in a 36-28 win over Valley, running for 273 yards and four touchdowns.


Week 5

BRENT SCHAEFFER, VISTA DEL LAGO
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

It takes a real special performance for a player to land at the head of the class twice in one season, and Schaeffer did just that in a 56-14 win over eventual section finalist Placer. Schaeffer completed 23 of 29 passes for 418 yards and seven touchdowns, while also rushing for 57 yards and another score.


BRENDEN RAKELA, ROCKLIN
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Rakela led the Thunder to a huge 48-35 win over Nevada Union, taking over on the ground with 242 rushing yards and four touchdowns.


Week 6

JAKE CRUZ, WHITNEY-ROCKLIN
Position: Quarterback
Year: Junior

Cruz led Whitney to a big 47-28 win over Del Campo, completing 20 of 28 passes for 414 yards and six touchdowns.


STEFAN KOSS, VANDEN
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Almost half of Koss’ completions went for touchdowns in a 44-14 win over Vintage-Napa, as the senior completed 13 of 16 passes for 236 yards and six scores.


Week 7

JOE CURRY, FOLSOM
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

In a much-anticipated showdown with Del Oro, Curry made it a one-sided affair, completing 24 of 30 passes for 322 yards and six touchdowns in a huge 42-7 win for the Bulldogs.


CHRIS VOLEK, EL DORADO-PLACERVILLE
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Senior

Volek scored on half of his receptions in a 55-14 win over Rosemont, hauling in eight passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns in a big win for the Cougars.


Week 8

CHRIS LUBINSKY, CERES
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Lubinsky led Ceres past Patterson, 48-41, by completing 28 of 39 passes for 368 yards and five touchdowns.


AUSTIN SITH, MCNAIR-STOCKTON
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Sith did it all for the Eagles in a 66-36 win over Edison, racking up 144 rushing yards and three touchdowns, to go with 198 receiving yards and two more scores.


Week 9

ZACH ORMAN, GALT
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Orman continued his fantastic season with a 301-yard, five-touchdown performance on the ground in a 33-30 win over Union Mine.


CUTRELL HAYWOOD, STAGG
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Senior

Haywood got it done through the air and on the ground in a 46-35 win over McNair. The senior had 13 catches for 192 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for two more scores in the win.


Week 10

JOE CURRY, FOLSOM
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The Folsom machine was rolling at this point of the season, and the senior signal-caller posted another big performance in a 47-14 win over Rocklin. Curry threw for 287 yards and six touchdowns, while rushing for another score, in a big Bulldogs’ victory.


CODY RENTFRO, HILMAR
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Rentfro paced a big day on the ground for the Yellowjackets, rushing for 317 yards and three touchdowns in Hilmar’s 44-28 win over Mountain House.


Week 11

TYLER VANDER WAAL, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The Wyoming-bound quarterback put up a huge performance in a 74-32 win over Vista Del Lago. Vander Waal completed 21 of 34 passes for 490 yards and five touchdowns in the victory.


TIMOTHY JACKSON, VACAVILLE
Position: Running Back
Year: Junior

Jackson showed just how dangerous the Bulldogs’ running game could be in a 38-15 win over Will C Wood. The junior ran for 285 yards and two touchdowns in a big Vacaville win.


Week 12

JAYDEN MACHADO, ELK GROVE
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

Machado led the Thundering Herd to a 49-8 win over Gregori in the first round of the playoffs, completing 17 of 22 passes for 265 yards and six touchdowns.


TYREE MARCELLE, GRANT
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Marcelle led the Pacers to a big 42-17 first-round win over Granite Bay, rushing for 273 yards and four touchdowns against the Grizzlies’ defense.


Week 13

ELIJAH DOTSON, ANTELOPE
Position: Running Back
Year: Senior

Dotson carried Antelope to one of the biggest wins of the post-season, rushing for 287 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-28 quarterfinal win over Grant.


MARCO BALDACCHINO, OAK RIDGE
Position: Quarterback
Year: Junior

Baldacchino used his legs to carry Oak Ridge to the 41-28 quarterfinal win over Cosumnes Oaks, rushing for 191 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 126 more yards.


Week 14

STONE SMARTT, DEL ORO
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

In a semifinal that many thought would be a close game, Smartt led Del Oro to a 50-10 win over Antelope, throwing for 272 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 88 yards and three more scores.


GINO CAMPIOTTI, MANTECA
Position: Quarterback
Year: Junior

Campiotti had one of his best performances on the biggest stages, lifting Manteca to the Division 4 section title with a 50-28 win over Placer. The junior signal-caller threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for another score, in the big win for the Buffaloes.


Week 15

JAKE DUNNIWAY, ST. MARY’S
Position: Quarterback
Year: Senior

The recognition here has to also be shared with the Rams’ offensive line, which opened up massive holes for Dusty Frampton and gave Dunniway plenty of time to throw in the 56-25 title game win over Folsom. But Dunniway was also excellent, completing 14 of 20 passes for 254 yards and four touchdowns in the big win over the Bulldogs.


QUINCY GLASPER, BROOKSIDE CHRISTIAN
Position: Quarterback
Year: Sophomore

Glasper carried Brookside to the CIF NorCal regionals with a tremendous performance in a 52-30 play-in victory over Biggs. The sophomore completed 19 of 31 passes for 366 yards and five touchdowns in the win.
