Rancho Cotate crushes Analy on Senior Night

ROHNERT PARK, CA - Rancho Cotate (6-3, 3-1 North Bay League -- Oak Division) came out firing on all cylinders in a 49-13 victory on October 25 over Analy-Sebastopol that keeps their chance of a high seed in the upcoming CIF North Coast Section Division 3 playoffs alive.

With momentum coming from their last two league wins, the Cougars couldn’t be stopped. They opened the scoring on a six-play play, 76-yard drive led by senior quarterback Jared Stocker who scored on a keeper. In the game, the 6-1, 190-pound senior went 9 of10 for 95 yards, one TD, and two rushing TD’s on two carries for 10 yards.

With Rancho up 7-0, their defense held Analy to a three-and-out and forced a punt. After a big return Rancho scored again on three plays, after a three yard run by senior running back, Rasheed Rankin. Rasheed rushed for 71 yards on six carries with the one TD, and he had one pass reception for two yards.

Analy came up short again on a fourth-and-one and the Cougars took the ball down and scored on a 16 yard run by Stocker. On Analy’s third drive they were forced to punt after three plays. The Cougars couldn’t score this time however and were forced to punt. On the next possession Analy quarterback Gavin Allingham threw an interception on an attempt at a deep pass.

With Rancho in good field position they marched down and scored on a 14-yard pass from Stocker to Brandon Proschold.

Analy finally got on the board by marching down the field on their sixth drive and got a much needed score after Allingham ran it in for four yards after several previous keepers.

In the game, Allingham, a 5-10 170-pound senior went 12 of 25 for 160 yards, and he rushed for 48 yards, but the Cougar's defense sacked him seven times, and intercepted him twice.

Leading 35-6 Rancho started their next drive on their 28 yard line. In four plays the Cougars scored on a 49-yard pass to wide receiver Dylan Barella to put them up 42-6 with 1:29 left in the second quarter. Analy once again was held to a three-and-out. Rancho had just enough time for a field goal before the end of the half but it was no good

Analy, hoping to get something started to start the second half, couldn’t get past the Cougar defense and once again ended their drive in a three-and-out.

Rancho was forced to a fourth-and-four and couldn’t complete the conversion pass.

Analy had a chance with good field position. They led a promising drive to the nine yard line, but Allingham threw a risky pass and the ball was intercepted, however Rancho could not cash in and was forced to punt after three plays.

Analy started their drive on their 36 yard line. After a 46 yard pass to wide receiver Kolby Elledge, they were on the nine yard line. On third and goal Analy scored on a two yard touchdown run by junior running back Kaden Fox to make it 35-13. In the game Fox ran for 29 yards on 10 carries with the one touchdown, and caught two passes for 11 yards.

Rancho rebounded and scored on a six play, 43- yard drive to put close out the scoring with 11:57 remaining in the fourth quarter. From there the game went to a running clock.

“All of you contributed in practice and in the game. This is what happens when we do that,” Coach Gehrig Hotaling told the team after the game.
