Leland was hoping to build on the momentum it created by beating Westmont the day before, but the visiting Warriors rebounded for a 10-5 win in Blossom Valley Athletic League Mount Hamilton action Thursday afternoon.
Just the day before, Leland (2-6, 2-4 BVAL-MH) handed Westmont (5-5, 4-3) a 12-5 defeat, but the Warriors turned the tables quickly, scoring three runs in the first inning. A four-run fifth inning extended Westmont's lead to 8-0, and although Leland rallied for five runs in the final two innings, the damage was done.
Seniors JD Hearn and Dominic Zucca had three hits apiece for the Warriors, with Hearn scoring all three times he reached base. Senior Lucas Erceg drove in three runs with a pair of hits, including a double. Westmont finished with 13 hits.
Erceg (3-1) also shined on the mound, allowing just two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings to earn the victory.
Jared Ferguson led the way for the Chargers with two doubles, including a bases-clearing shot in the sixth to cut the Westmont lead to 8-3.
