Hill blanks James Lick to maintain control in West Valley

October 13, 2018

SAN JOSE - Three different players topped the 100-yard mark on the ground for Andrew Hill, as the Falcons downed James Lick 22-0 to stay unbeaten in the BVAL-West Valley with its fourth straight victory.

Laronn Chapman ran for 117 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, Dashawn Roads added 117 yards and a score on 13 carries, and Rick Quinonez rounded out the trio with 110 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, lifting Hill to a win in the 30th Bell Game since 1985, and a Homecoming victory for the Falcons.

"Our offensive line did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage, allowing us to run for over 300 yards," said Andrew Hill coach Mike Holt. "We knew James Lick would play us tough and we came ready to play. It was a great team effort with the shutout on defense."

That offensive line of Miguel Mejia, Jose Gonzalez, John Vazquez, Jobanee Leon and Cesar Lozano may have paved the way for the rushing attack, but the defense was just as stout. Mejia anchored the defensive line with 10 tackles, including a safety. Ben Hoang added five tackles and forced a fumble.

With the win, Hill improved to 4-3 overall, 4-0 in West Valley action, and heads to San Jose next week. James Lick dropped to 2-5 overall, 1-3 in league play, and hosts Yerba Buena next week.
