Central Catholic ran for over 450 yards, as the Raiders posted an easy 68-7 win over visiting Archbishop Riordan in the season opener for both teams Friday night.
Booker finished with 190 yards and two touchdowns on just 13 carries, but was ejected for a targeted hit on Riordan quarterback Adham Abdelghani in the second quarter. The Raiders (1-0) built a 55-7 halftime lead before turning the game over to their reserves, taking advantage of four straight Crusader turnovers, which all happened after the game had been tied at seven early.
D'Angelo Bellamy, Kyle Jacklich and Coleby Garrett each rushed for a pair of scores and Dawaiian McNeely chipped in with 75 yards rushing for Central Catholic (1-0), which travels to Marin Catholic next Saturday afternoon in what figures to be a much more difficult test, especially without Booker, who will be unable to play due to the ejection.
Riordan (0-1) looks to bounce back next Saturday night at home against Salesian. Chiame Ugbaja ran for 89 yards on nine carries in the loss for the Crusaders.
