Udall bounced back after its first loss of the season to St. Mary’s-Colgan in the semifinals to beat Troy 9-8 in the third-place game in the Kansas 2-1A Division playoffs.
Scoring runs was not an issue for either team as Troy jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and briefly trailed the Eagles 3-1 in the second inning.
Udall’s lead didn’t last long as Troy caught fire scoring four runs in the second inning and adding two runs to extend the lead to 7-4 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
Udall did not regain the lead until the bottom of the sixth, scoring four runs to take the lead for good.
Sophomore pitcher Alex Perez earned the win and senior Dayton June, junior Hunter Kistler, and junior Nolan Williams all hit doubles in the win.
