The playoffs don’t technically begin until next week, but Friday will be get things started with so-called “play-in” games for the 6A and 5A conferences. The top eight teams in the AIA power rankings received automatic bids into next Tuesday’s 16-team tournament with the 16 teams in each conference below slated to play their way in. Here are the matchups, released today by the AIA, for Friday as well as the eight automatic qualifiers:
