The playoffs don’t technically begin until next week, but Friday will be get things started with so-called “play-in” games for the 6A and 5A conferences. The top eight teams in the AIA power rankings received automatic bids into next Tuesday’s 16-team tournament with the 16 teams in each conference below slated to play their way in.
