Sometimes there is no sweeter joy than revenge and JSerra got a taste of it on Friday.
This time last year the Lions were upset by Hart in the Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals. With a shot at redemption, JSerra didn’t make the same mistake this season.
The No. 1 seed Lions beat Hart 13-1 in a rout.
JSerra made sure to impose their will early. Prep2Prep’s No. 1 ranked SoCal team scored 11 runs in the first three innings. Pitcher Collin Quinn threw in only four innings and was dominant in just 41 pitches.
Brady Shockey, Micah Pries, Mark Manskar and Colin Townsend each had two hits for the Lions.
JSerra will face Harvard-Westlake in the semifinals on Tuesday.
Harvard-Westlake beat Cypress 5-2 to advance to the next round. Leo Kaplan hit a three-run home run in the game.
