PREP2PREP CLASSIC: Schakel a hard worker on and off court

August 28, 2015

Jordan Schakel is a 6-6 hard working wing from Bishop Montgomery.

According to Southern California basketball expert and Prep2Prep California All-Star Classic committee member Ronnie Flores, Schakel is a "jack of all trades and lunch-pail guy that does all the little things that make him a great teammate.”

In his player rankings Flores has Schakel at No. 11 overall and at No. 4 in the state for small forwards.

All-Star committee member Frank Burlison likes Schakel's game.

"Very underrated in the west and nationally. Second-team All-Open Division in the Southern Section."

Flores says Schakel is a fan-pleaser. "Fans at Las Positas are going to enjoy his hard work approach to the game."

Not only does Schakel work hard on the court but in the classroom as well.

Rice and USC have major interest in Schakel. With a 4.3 GPA, a strong showing this Sunday in Livermore could get a lot more colleges interested where academics are a major factor.
